Boxing Odds

Boxing is a strange sport and boxing odds are a strange business. The idea of it is a bit barbaric. Two huge and muscular grown men trained to beat each other to a pulp and spectators craving the boxing odds they need in order to profit form the violent beating of a human. That being said, the sport of boxing, accompanied by boxing odds, is perhaps one of the most highly entertaining sports events on the face of the mud ball.

Handicapping a boxing match and manufacturing boxing odds, must be one very seriously interesting occupation. Boxing odds makers’ task at hand is something akin to sizing up a racehorse, only doing it with humans. Sizing up humans brings to mind many historical notations, some pleasant, some not so pleasant, but that is the job of these boxing odds makers. But their job is not as easy as it might seem. Sure anybody on the street might be able to pick who wins a fight, but boxing odds makers must be able to do more than just pick the winner of the fights. Boxing odds makers must be able to pick the fashion in which the winner wins the fight. Boxing odds makers must be able to predict in what round the winner will pull off his victory, how many knockdowns will be involved in the fight, what the final scorecards will read or whether it will be a KO a TKO or some other such ending. Boxing odds making is therefore a complex process which incorporates many different variable sin arriving at a multi-pronged conclusion.

A boxing odds maker must have intimate knowledge of the sport of boxing as well as training strategies and the technicalities of the sports. The percentage chance of boxing odds being incorrect is extremely high so these professionals must exercise all of their superior knowledge and expertise when setting the various boxing odds. And then there is also the matter of the different weight classes and the different types of fighters in each class and the different types of boxing odds that must be applied to each division of weights. All in all, the job of a boxing odds maker is no picnic, that is for certain.
